How to create a download gate in under 1 minute

You need three things to create a download gate:

• The file you want to give away: a track, remix, edit, sample pack, preset or project, or a link to it.
• Where you want to grow: usually your SoundCloud profile, but it can be Spotify, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok or your email list.
• A free Valorizd account. No credit card, unlimited gates.

   Create a free Valorizd account

   Go to valorizd.app and sign up with Google or email. The Starter plan is free forever with unlimited download gates and no credit card.

   Click "New Gate"

   In your dashboard open Gates and click New Gate. Choose Import from SoundCloud (fastest), Import from Hypeddit (to move an existing gate) or Blank Gate (to start from scratch).

   Paste your SoundCloud track URL

   Copy the link of your track from SoundCloud and paste it. Valorizd pulls the title and high-resolution cover art and adds four actions: follow artist, like, repost and comment.

   Choose the actions fans must complete

   Keep the SoundCloud actions or add Spotify follows and saves, YouTube subscribe, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Discord or email capture. The free plan includes up to 2 actions per gate, Pro up to 5, Studio up to 15.

   Upload your file (WAV, MP3, ZIP, stems, presets) or paste a download link to any file you host elsewhere.

   Publish and share your gate link

   Publish the gate and share its link in your SoundCloud track description, on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or in your Valorizd link in bio. Track views, unlocks and actions from the dashboard.

More actions mean more growth per download, but too many and fans drop off. What works for most artists:

• Growing on SoundCloud: follow artist + repost. Reposts put your track in front of the fan's followers, follows bring them back for the next release.
• Pushing a release on streaming: SoundCloud follow + Spotify follow artist. You convert free-download listeners into Spotify followers who get your next release in Release Radar.
• Building an audience you own: add email capture. Followers can disappear with an algorithm change, an email list doesn't.

• Put the gate link in your SoundCloud track as the "buy" link and in the description, with "FREE DOWNLOAD" in the title.

• Share it everywhere: Instagram story with link, TikTok bio, YouTube description, Discord, and your Valorizd link-in-bio page.
• Climb the charts: gates are ranked daily on recent downloads in the Valorizd Top 30, which brings extra discovery.
• Check your analytics: compare views to unlocks. A low unlock rate usually means too many actions.
